Four Oaks – Owen Fleming “Bud” Shearin, Jr., age 76, died Thursday afternoon, March 9, 2017 in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Born April 9, 1940 in Wake County he was a son of the late Owen Fleming and Gladys Reid Shearin. He was preceded in death by a brother, Owen M. Shearin; sisters, Zelma Martini, Martha Minton, and Gladys Reid Cox; and son-in-law, Ronnie Parker. Bud worked for the United States Post Office for over 36 years serving as a mail carrier to many in the Wake County area and was a member of Warren Plains United Methodist Church in Warrenton.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Harriet Shearin of the home; sons, Brian Reid Shearin and significant other Lorraine Wicenski of Littleton, and S. Keith Shearin and wife Tasha of Del Rio, TX; daughter, Catherine Shearin Parker of Four Oaks; sister, Ethel Shearin Whitby of Henderson; eleven grandchildren; and four great grandsons.
The family will receive friends at the home of Bud and Harriet Shearin. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
