    Page Jenkins Partin, age 51, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, N. C. Page was born in Smithfield, N C on April 12, 1967 to the late Judge Knox Vaughan Jenkins Jr and Martha Williford Jenkins (now Martha Williford Zollicoffer).
    Page attended East Carolina University and had a long career of over 25 years with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Starting initially as a secretary and as an Assistant to License and Theft Inspectors, she quickly rose to become a Driver’s License Examiner followed by being made a Senior Examiner having several Examiners under her supervision. While an Examiner, Page’s services became more in demand after she self-taught herself Spanish, needed to converse with the rising number of Hispanic applicants.
    Because of Page’s effective communication skills, courtroom decorum, and extensive acquired knowledge of the North Carolina Motor Vehicle laws, the Driver License System, and the Criminal/Infraction Court System, she was promoted in only a few years to become an Administrative Hearing Officer hearing motions and conducting hearings, taking testimony, analyzing the evidence and rendering decisions relative to reinstatement of revoked driving privileges, etc in Eastern North Carolina. She thereafter further served as the Lead Training Officer for the Eastern Region for new Administrative Hearing Officers in all aspects of their job duties.
    It was said that Page developed “stellar working relationships with attorneys, staff at Headquarters, Hearing Officers throughout North Carolina, and management”, as well as the general public.
    Surviving are her mother, Martha Williford Zollicoffer and husband John Zollicoffer Jr ( of Henderson, NC ); her brother Henry Darden Jenkins; sister Alice Jenkins Gipe and husband Jason Gipe and their children Joseph Knox Gipe and Anna Katie Gipe ( of Smithfield ); her 3 nieces and nephew: Anna Y Armstrong and husband Hinton Armstrong and their son, Harden Vaughan Armstrong, Katie Y Stephenson and husband Will Stephenson, and Dwight Benjamin Youngblood III ( all of Smithfield ); her step-mother Violet Weaver Jenkins ( of Smithfield ); and being a lover of dogs all of her life, her beloved King Charles Spaniel, Gracie. Page was predeceased by her father, Knox Vaughan Jenkins Jr and her sister, Hannah Jenkins Youngblood (both of Smithfield).
    Special thanks are extended to June Brinson, Page’s landlord who rendered extraordinary care for Page during her last illness.
    A Memorial Service will be held at St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Smithfield, NC at 11 o’clock on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Visitation with the family will follow the service.
