    Patricia Ann Jones Taylor, age 81, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday morning, February 21, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born January 19, 1940 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Rhem and Ethel Bunn Jones. She was preceded in death by her brother, R. T. Jones; and sisters, Josephine Capps, Veda Eason, Marjorie Eason, Rachel Babinec, Clara Struebig, and Lou Goldman.

    Pat was a longtime member of Live Oak Baptist Church in Selma. Her church and church family brought her much joy and happiness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed vacations and gatherings with her family. She especially loved Sunday dinners with them. She loved southern gospel music and attended many gospel conventions. She was a homemaker, but for many years she worked at home for her niece’s, Phyllis Henry, tackle company. At 4:00 on any weekday, you would find her watching The Young and the Restless.

    A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Frankie Bass officiating. In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, a traditional visitation will not be held; however, the family will be at the church from 2:00-3:00. The family asks that everyone please adhere to the current COVID restrictions and wear their masks. Masks will be provided at the service for those that may not have one.

    Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Elbert Taylor; sons, Rocky Taylor (Callie) of Hillsborough, and David Taylor (Tara) of Selma; daughters, Diane Jones (Kirby) of Kenly, Sherri Taylor (John “Jake”) of Clayton, and Jennifer Marr (Todd) of Clayton; sisters, Shelby Spillare (Rudy) of Florida and Carolyn Murray (Jerry) of Selma; grandchildren, Nicholas Taylor, Leah Walters (Brian), Brandon Jones, Shawn Taylor (Scotti), Blake Taylor (Victoria) Austin Spruill, Ciera Spruill, Chandler Marr (Amber), and Peyton Marr; and ten great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful team of doctors and nurses in the ICU unit of Johnston UNC Health for the exceptional care they gave to Mrs. Patricia.
