Angier, NC: Mr. Paul Benjamin Lassiter, age 91, of NC Hwy 50 North passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM, Monday, August 16, 2021 at Benson Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Cashwell will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Lassiter was born in Johnston County on March 16, 1930 to the late Walter Benjamin and Gladys Langdon Lassiter. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Paul Lassiter; and a grandson, Chad Benjamin Creech; sisters, Louella Thompson and Hilda Barbour. Mr. Lassiter retired as a truck driver with Bowen Logging Company and worked part-time after retirement with McLamb’s Nursery.
Surviving include his wife of 70 years, Peggy Thornton Lassiter; daughter, Ruth L. Creech and husband, Kenneth of Benson; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Lassiter of Angier; grandchildren, D. Keith Lassiter and wife, Angie, Stephanie R. Davis, and Shannon Creech and wife, Dorene; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 10:45AM in the church sanctuary prior to the service and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to the SECU Hospice House, P.O. Box 1376 Smithfield, NC 27577.
