    Selma – Paul Junior Mitchell, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, in UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh. He was born on September 28, 1943, a son of the late James and Martha Mitchell in Johnston County. He is preceded in death by the love of his life Anna Jean Mitchell, his infant daughter, Brenda Jean Mitchell and other siblings who have gone to be with the Lord.

    Paul was a member of the Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as a deacon. Paul loved his Lord and Savior and he loved all of his family. During his career he was a diesel mechanic and a truck driver. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, eating, and visiting folks. Paul was a very social man and never met a stranger, he also spoke his mind. He had a great laugh and enjoyed joking with others. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

    Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the burial to follow in Micro Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 12, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and during other times at the home.

    He is survived by his son, Wesley Mitchell (wife Anita) of Selma, daughters, Wanda Mitchell of Selma, and Emma Hare (husband Jason) of Kenly, sister, Elgie R. Bailey (husband Roy) of Princeton, grandchildren, Hannah Glover (husband Travis), Hayley Barbour, Brandon Barbour, Garrett Mitchell, Tyler Mitchell, Luke Mitchell, Jordan Lamm (wife Meredith) and Jacob Lamm.
