    Paulette Newton Cooper went home to be with Jesus and the rest of her Family in Heaven on April 4th, 2021 at 3:17 PM. She was born July 31st, 1944, in Harnett County, NC. She was 76 years young. She is the youngest daughter of Willie Smith Newton and Thelma Carrie Adcock Newton. She is leaving behind her husband, Dana Clark Cooper of 50 years. Also, her 3 children, Daniel Ellis Bryant and his wife Sarah, Dana Clark Cooper II and his wife Stephanie, beloved daughter Elizabeth Carrie Cooper Huff and her husband Chris. Also are her 8 wonderful grandchildren, Ashton, Amber, Katelyn, Allie, Trey, Jake, Brianna, and Mackenzie. And her fur babies, Bowser, Talley, and Bandit.

    Paulette enjoyed her career as a retail specialist and manager for several companies, including Van Heusen, Hagger, and Crossmark. Her fondest career was taking care of children, mostly her youngest granddaughters. She also worked with the youth group, as well as a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Smithfield, NC since 1984. She also enjoyed being a part of the handbell choir for many years. She was also active with Girl Scout troop 662, where she rose to troop leader for many years.

    Paulette also loved line dancing, camping, and spending time with friends and family. Especially time spent with her grandkids.

    As Dana has stated, “As Jesus was walking out of the tomb today, and as she was walking in, and she stopped and talked to Him.”

    A service will be held honoring her memory Thursday April 8th with visitation from 10:00 to 10:45, service following at 11:00, at Centenary United Methodist Church. Please follow all Covid19 guide lines for this event.

    In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, 104 E Market St, Smithfield, NC 27577, in her name.
