Peggy Ann Hales Carlisle, 82, Princeton, NC, went to be with her Lord Friday, November 24, 2017, at SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health surrounded by her family. Born in Wayne County July 27, 1935, to the late Charles Wilbert Hales and Mabel Rich Hales. She, was owner/operator of the Princeton Piggly Wiggly along with her husband George Sr. and son Joe.
Peggy was a longtime member of Princeton Baptist Church where she served many years as a Sunday School Teacher. She loved working in her flowers and spending time at their mountain house. She was an awesome cook and was known for her holiday fruit cakes.
Funeral services will be held at Princeton Baptist Church, Sunday, November 26, 2017, 4:30 PM, with the Rev. Wayne Batten, and Rev. Bill Rose officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. A committal service will be at Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, 11:00 AM.
Peggy is survived by her husband, George W. Carlisle, Sr.; daughter Peggy LeVerne Carlisle and significant other, Susan Spurgeon of Deep Gap, NC; sons, George W. Carlisle, Jr. and wife Sharan, of Huntersville, NC, Joseph T. Carlisle of Princeton, NC, B. Timothy Carlisle and wife Pam, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and granddaughters Lauren and Kayla; her sister, Evelyn Clay of Enfield, NC, and brother Hugh Hales of Tarboro, NC.

We would like to thank Andrea Moore, Patricia Wolfe and Carmen Albritten, who provided loving care for Peggy during her latter years.
We would also like to give a very special thanks to the wonderful staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital and SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health for the care they provided Peggy during her final days.
