Apex – Peggy Godwin Higgins, age 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior, in her home on Friday, October 16, 2020. She was born on April, 29, 1940, in Johnston County to the late Eardith and Cora Parker Godwin. She is preceded in death by her husband Remer Williams, son Michael Williams, sister, Phyllis Watson, and brother-in-law, Billy Watson.
Peggy worked as a tax specialist for 22 years at the Wake County Tax Office. She was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Kenly, she loved working in her yard and in her flower beds, doing good to others, and caring for her family. She was a devoted mother to her late son Michael Williams.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 19, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the burial to follow in the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
She is survived by her sisters, Marietha Peacock (Harold) of Newport News, VA, Janie Peedin (Roy) of Cary, Pamela Parker (JW) of Mount Olive, brother, Eric Godwin (Susan) of Selma, stepsons, Michael Higgins of Smithfield, and Patrick Higgins (Pam) of Benson, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Missionary Baptist Church at 8980 Old Beulah Road, Kenly, NC 27542.
