Fayetteville, NC: Mrs. Phyllis Ann Whitman Sargent, age 65, 6406 Glanis Place died Thursday October 26, 2017 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville. Funeral Services will be held 3:00PM Tuesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Mr. Tony Noguera. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Dunn.
Mrs. Sargent was born December 10, 1951 in Johnston County to Clenties West Whitman of Benson and the late Thelbert Whitman. She was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Sargent, II. She retired from the North Carolina Women’s State Prison as a Correctional Sergeant.
Surviving in addition to her mother, include husband of eleven years, Steven Sargent; children, Cyndi Register and husband, Hahn of Benson, Glen Norris and partner, Preston Hill of Smithfield, Anthony Johnson and wife, Bonnie of Davie, Fl, Chantal Cain and husband, Stevie of Fayetteville, Emily Trujillo and husband, T.J. of Berea, KY, Lee Sargent and wife, Buffy of Seven Springs; fifteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and A.V. Byrd and Diane and Carlie Wise all of Benson and Shelia and Robert Hall of Coats; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 1:30PM-2:30PM prior to the service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
