Phyllis Harris Chandler, age 80, of Selma passed away on May 8, 2020 following a period of declining health. Born in Nash County on October 5, 1939, she was the daughter of the late George Goodridge and Letha Baker Harris.
A longtime resident of Selma, Phyllis retired from the Town of Selma after 21 years as the Caretaker at Selma Memorial Gardens. She was a member of Selma Baptist Church.
A private service will be held on Monday in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are her sons, Jim Chandler and wife Jennifer, and their children Katie Beth, Tyler and Bennett Chandler; John Chandler and Devin Reynolds, and their children Jack and Turner Chandler, Austin and Laney Reynolds; daughter-in-law Susan Chandler; brother, Lindsey Harris; and nieces, Leslie Powers and David, Haley Hughes and Mike.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there is no visitation but the public may come by Parrish Funeral Home on Monday from 8-12 to pay their respects.
