    SELMA – Richard Marshall Holloman, age 82, died Friday, February 24, 2017 in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born January 11, 1935 in Johnston County to the late George Bland and Myrtie Howell Holloman, he was preceded in death by a brother, George “Buck” Holloman and sisters, Marguerite Alley and Venita Stallings. Marshall was a member of Parrish Memorial Baptist Church, Selma Masonic Lodge # 320 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 in the Parrish Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Walker and the Rev. Tony Medlin officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the George Holloman Cemetery.
    Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Batten Holloman; sons, Ricky Holloman and wife Johnna of Houston, TX and Bobby Holloman and wife Debbie of Selma; grandson, Todd Holloman of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Jennifer Holloman of Selma; brothers, Russell Holloman and wife Delma, Larry Holloman and Bernice Ray Holloman and wife Debbie all of Selma; sisters, Peggy Thompson and husband Charles of Smithfield, Myrtle Sauls and husband Ray of Mechanicsville, VA, Sue Snodgrass of Kenly, Linda Edwards and husband Jim of South Carolina and Mary Sullivan of Selma, brother and sisters-in-law, Billy & Shirley Parrish of Portsmouth, VA and Rose Jones of Chesapeake, VA.
    The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
