Richard Thomas Ladd, Sr., 63, of Selma, passed away on February 20, 2019 in Chapel Hill.
Richard was born in Garner, North Carolina to Robert and Lillian Ladd on December 10, 1955. He married Wanda Marks Ladd on July 5, 1980 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He worked as a Truck Driver for 44 years.
Richard is preceded in death by Newton B Penny (Granddaddy), Robert Early Ladd (Father), Lillian Penny Ladd (Mother), Glinda Ladd Dreisbach (Sister), and William Burt Ladd (Brother).
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 38 years (together for 44 years), Wanda Marks Ladd, children, Richard Thomas Ladd, Jr. (Natasha), Anthony William Ladd (April), Amanda Dawn Effinger (Jason). Siblings Linda Ann Austin and Allen Horst Ladd (Karen). Siblings-in-law, Rita Ladd, Mike Dreisbach, James Henry Marks (Phyllis), Deborah Marks Jordan, Pamela Marks Summerlin (Buddy), Brenda Marks Melton (Charles), Greg Galloway. Grandchildren Gabriele Morgan Effinger, Madison Paige Effinger, Evan William Ladd, Tyler Jacob Effinger, James Kendall Johnson, and Autumn Elizabeth Ladd. Uncle Roscoe Prince Penny, Aunts, Edna Ruth Butler, Frances Lamar Bass and Laura Ann Hamilton. Nieces, nephews, cousins and several lifetime friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 2 until 3:00pm at McLaurin Funeral Home with a memorial service following at 3:00pm with Reverend Rhonda Hamilton of Coats PFWB Church, officiating.
