Clayton – Rita Ann McFatter Thornton, age 66, died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Wake Medical Center in Cary. Born July 13, 1950 in Wayne County she was a daughter of the late Chester “Mac” and Annie Mearle Dudley McFatter. Rita was a member of The Red Hat Society of Johnston County.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie Langston officiating. Burial will follow in Creech’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday just prior to the service.
Surviving are her husband, Rayvon Thornton, Sr. of the home; daughter, Bridgitte T. Lee and husband Ronald of Newton Grove; son, Rayvon Thornton, Jr. and wife Jill of Clayton; brothers, Chester “CJ” McFatter, Jr. of Morehead City, James William “JW” McFatter of Four Oaks, and Teddy Wayne “Ted” McFatter of Goldsboro; and three grandchildren, Austin Lee, Hunter Lee, and Taylor Thornton.
