Smithfield: Mr. Robert Lee Deans, age 72, of 43 Parkridge Drive, died Thursday, April 25, 2019 at his residence. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield. Officiating will be Rev. Ira Williford.
Mr. Deans was born on May 1, 1946 in Johnston County to the late Lonnie Robert and Lossie Pearl Massengill Deans. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Deans. He was a retried brick mason and also retired after 35 years of service with Canteen Corporation and was a Army National Guard veteran.
Survivors include his son, Robert Elvis Deans and wife, Vickie of Goldsboro; daughter, Lisa Marie Deans and special friend, Michael Shearman of Smithfield; seven grandchildren, Robert Earl Deans and wife, Ashley, Brandon Deans and wife, Ashley, Thomas Deans, David Waddell and wife, Amanda, Alisa Parker and husband, Preston, Eric Crumpler and wife, Kristi, Amber Hancock ; nine great-grandchildren, Daylon Parker, Phoenix Parker, Lilly Waddell, Xander Deans, Oliver Deans, Brooke Crumpler, Aaron Crumpler, MacKenzie Whitley and Daisey Deans; sisters, Edna Pearl Deans of Smithfield, Elizabeth Dianne McCabe of Raleigh, Brenda Deans Massey of Four Oaks; brothers, Melvin Clifton Deans of Johnston, SC, John Avery Deans of Zebulon, Lonnie Junior Deans of Brogdon; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Loretta Kossakowski of Washington, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 12:30PM to 1:30PM Saturday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks prior to graveside service and other times at the home of Brenda Massey 158 Strickland’s Crossroads Road Four Oaks, NC 27524.
