Robert Steven Adams

    Birth Date: 08/29/1941
    Deceased Date: 02/16/2020

Steve loved his family with all his heart and always asked how their day was going. Family was important to him and he always wanted to know what was going on. He always made sure that his children and grandchildren had what they needed no matter what. He didn’t say much, but when he did it was always interesting. He offered his advice readily and always had an opinion. He was eccentric in many ways as well as a collector of rare items. He was highly intelligent and a math whiz. He was a true romantic. He always wrote poems. You’d get birthday cards with some neat rhyme that was crafty and witty. After serving in the Air Force, he served and retired as a DC fireman and Fed Ex driver. He had an impeccable work ethic. He was proud of the family he helped raise and now can rest in peace with the love of his life, Myra, knowing his children will carry on. He was an awesome dad, husband, brother, cousin, son, and friend. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lynwood Adams and Daisy Irene Carroll; and wife of 44 years, Myra Adams.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 in Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Kenly with Rev. Daniel Arant officiating.

Steve is survived by his children, Jody Ann Adams of Kenly, Brandy Victoria Adams Schroeder and husband Matthew of Kenly, and Robert Edward Adams and wife Charlotte of Clayton; brother, Blaine Adams; and grandchildren, Christopher Baker, Joshua Schroeder, Sydney Schroeder, Joseph Baker, Tala Thompson, Taegan Thompson, Robert Adams, and Nikolai Adams.
