Middlesex- Wayne passed away peacefully at 5:41 a.m. on Thursday February 2, 2017 at WakeMed Hospital surrounded by his loving wife, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law. Wayne was born to Robert Thomas Davis and Patricia McLawhon Davis in Wilson, NC. He was a 1978 graduate of North Johnston High School. Wayne was employed by Sun States Securities as a security officer and Fluor at the Novo facility in Clayton. He was a huge sports lover, avid Carolina fan and loved his Chicago Cubs. Wayne especially loved softball in which he was an excellent pitcher and USSSA umpire. A member of the Joker 50 Harley club, he rode many rides with his “brothers.” He loved animals, especially the family’s cat, Calle.
Wayne was a loving, devoted and faithful husband, father, and brother. He will be remembered by many for his wit and compassion for others. He was preceded in death by his parents. Wayne leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years, Bridgitte Davis; a son, Hunter Wayne Davis; his cat, Calle; and a sister, Dawn Davis Flora of Middlesex.
The family will receive friends and family at 3200 Brogden Road, Smithfield, NC 27577 (home of LaRue “Rosie” Edwards).
