Smithfield- Ronald O. Strickland, age 71, died early Thursday morning, November 30, 2017 in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Born April 8, 1946 in Johnston County he was a son of the late James Strickland and Rachel Edwards Allen. Ronald was a member of Baker’s Chapel Church and was formerly a member of Barbourtown Church of God.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. J. Dan Hudson and Rev. Samuel Eugene Dewitt officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday just prior to the service. Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 in Barbourtown Church of God Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Linda Strickland; sons, Neil Strickland of Smithfield and Chris Strickland and wife Cheryl of Clayton; sister, Susie Sanders and husband Eddie of Smithfield; and grandchildren, Blake Strickland, Rachel Strickland, Sarah Strickland, and Ryan Strickland.
