Princeton – Rose Marie Godwin Grimes, age 60, died Sunday, July 9, 2017 in Wilson Medical Center in Wilson. Born on September 30, 1956 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Leamon and Bettie Holland Godwin. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Ward; sisters, Peggy Godwin, Lou Sullivan, and Bonnie Lancaster; and brothers, Bo Godwin, Richard Godwin, and Earl Godwin.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Wednesday just prior to the service.
Surviving are her husband, John Grimes of the home; son, Jerry Ward and wife Teresa of Rosewood; brother, Bill Godwin and wife Jane of Princeton; sister, Joe Ann Best and husband Dale of Dudley; grandchildren, Brooke Ward, Kyley Houston, Gracie Lewis, Joclyn Hansen, Jordan Hansen, Tyler Tilghman; great granddaughter, Ryleigh Casey; and special friends, Alice Willoughby and Dianne Jefferson.
