Four Oaks: Mr. Roy Dennis Ashby, age 74, of Four Oaks, died Monday at UNC Johnston Medical in Smithfield. Graveside Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday at Corinth United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Carolyn Sims will officiate.
Mr. Ashby was born April 26, 1942 in Johnston County to the late James Oscar and Mary Miles Lee Ashby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Sue Barbour Ashby and a daughter, Denise Penny. Mr. Ashby was a retired meter analyst with the Town of Smithfield and also served in the National Guard. He was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church.
Surviving include brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Gail Ashby of Four Oaks; grandson, Trevor Penny of Dunn and a niece and nephews.
Family will receive friends 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks.
