Roy Samuel Jones, age 72, of Smithfield, passed away on December 5, 2017. Born in Johnston County on May 4, 1945, he was the son of the late John D. and Zelphia Peedin Jones. He was also preceded in death by a sister Connie Jones and a brother David Jones.
Funeral services will held on Friday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with burial following in Piney Grove Church Cemetery near Four Oaks. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10-11 AM.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Jernigan Jones; daughters, Kelly Wilson and husband Michael, Barbara Murphy and husband Jimmy; sons, David Jones and wife Shelby, Bobby W. Holmes and wife Gloria; brother, Paul Jones of Clayton; grandchildren, Christina Reep and husband Dalton, Nikki Best, Melissa Stanley, Scotty Taylor, Jon Holmes and Liz Holmes; and great grandchildren, Kayla, Steven, Wyatt, Haven, Majesti and Trinidee.
