    Mrs. Ruby Holloman Daughtry Davis, 92, died August 22, 2018.

    Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 3 p.m., at First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Banks, Rev. Billy Nowell, and the Rev. Vickie Medlin officiating. Interment will follow in Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery near Selma. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6-8pm at Underwood Funeral Home.

    Ruby was born in Johnston County on September 8, 1925; she was the daughter of the late Samuel Eddie and Laura Daughtry Holloman. She was preceded in death by her first husband Leamon Daughtry (1968), and her late husband Ralph Edwin Davis (2006). Ruby is preceded in death by two brothers, William Henry Holloman, and Lester Holloman, one sister Lessie Holloman Allen, step-brothers, Robert Holloman, Johnny Holloman, and Warren G. Holloman, step-sister, Verlie H. Talton, and her beloved dog, “Baby”.
    Ruby was a hair dresser for 34 years before retiring in 1985. She loved children and her greatest joy after retiring was looking after children for her family and friends. Ruby was a kind and loving friend to everyone. She and her late husband Ralph were God’s special angels on earth to many children. Ruby was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and was in the choir as long as her health permitted her to sing for the glory of God.

    Ruby is survived by her beloved cat “Dusty” along with her brother Thurman Holloman of Lake City, Florida, a step-sister Bessie Holloman Strickland of Goldsboro, special nephew Ned And JoAnn Holloman, several other nieces and nephews, special family: Ricky, Barbara, and Derrick Barefoot, William and Brenda Capps, Ted and Judy Gilford, Jeff Langdon, Liz Partrick, C. P. and Laura Radford, Roy Rogers, Hilda Starling, Jeff Stephenson, and Dean Wiggs.

    Ruby and her first husband Leamon Daughtry adopted two children. She is preceded in death by Danny B. Daughtry and survived by Deanne Daughtry Johnson, two grandchildren, and three great-grand children.
