Smithfield – Ruby Louise Broughton Moore, age 93, died Monday, January 1, 2018 in Smithfield Manor in Smithfield. Born August 25, 1924 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Gilbert Ray and Nettie Pollard Broughton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Moore; four sisters; and two brothers. Ruby was a member of Wilson’s Mills Church of God.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hunt and Rev. Jeff Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday just prior to the service.
Surviving are her son, Dennis Moore; daughter, Angelene Moore Davis, both of Princeton; grandchildren, Laura Whaley of Snow Hill, Thomas Jackson of Sneads Ferry, and Russell Jackson of Princeton; six great grandchildren; and ten great great grandchildren.
