Pine Level – Ruby Mae Parrish Thompson, age 89, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born March 2, 1928 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Walter A. and Naomi Corbett Parrish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis S. Thompson, Jr.; son, Gary Wayne Thompson; and many brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Pine Level Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dannie Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Watson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon in the fellowship hall just prior to the service.
Surviving are her daughters, Marilyn Thompson and Betty Jean Crocker, both of Pine Level; brother, Murray Parrish and wife Martha of Culpepper, VA; grandchildren, Tony Wayne Crocker and wife Brandy; and great grandchildren, Schyler Crocker and Lydia Crocker.
