Kenly – Ruth Grey Creech, age 92, died Thursday evening, August 30, 2018 at her home. Born January 5, 1926 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late C.H. Spurgeon and Geneva McCall Creech. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Creech Tyner, Ethel Creech Boykin, and Mary Creech Wood; brother, Randall K. Creech; and precious niece, Katie Etheridge. Ruth was a member of Kenly United Methodist Church where she played the piano and organ, as well as at other churches in Rocky Mount and Kenly area. Ruth shared her love of music by teaching others how to play the piano. She also loved Duke basketball, watching and recording every game that came on throughout the years.
Per her request, a graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in Bethany Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Neil Wood officiating.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews who cherished and loved Ruth dearly.
