WENDELL – Shirley League Hawkins, age 60, died Friday at her home. Born January 30, 1956 in Newport News. VA she was a clerk/typist with the federal government before moving to Johnston County. Shirley was a daughter of the late Azel Eugene and Georgia Elizabeth Brewster League and was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Marie League.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Surviving are her son, Shawn Hawkins and wife Malika of Wendell; brother, William League of Phenix City, AL; sisters, Susan Holloman and husband Jimmy of Selma and Mary League of West End and a granddaughter, Shani Hawkins.
