Shirley Virginia Higgins, age 73, of Four Oaks, passed away at her home on October 16, 2021. Born in Unicoi County, Tennessee on January 26, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Charles and Mary Frances Higgins. She was a member of Niagara Pentecostal Holiness Church near Kenly.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Wednesday from 10-11 am followed by a funeral service in the chapel. Burial will follow in the Aycock Cemetery near Selma.
Surviving are her sons, Charles Anthony “Tony” Howell of Benson, Robert Allen “Bobby” Pierce, Jr. of Washington, and Johnny Thomas Hollowell of San Angelo, TX; daughters Tammy Michelle Register of Pine Level and Karen “Maria” Andrews of Rocky Mount; brothers Ronnie Higgins of Richmond Hills, GA, Larry Taylor of Cleveland, TN, Buck Higgins of Alliance, OH; sisters Carolyn Higgins-Ajuzie of Douglasville, GA, Charlotte Higgins of Greenville, KY, Starr Fox and Becky Blake of Alliance, OH; sixteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
