Benson, NC: Mr. Stacy Keith Stewart, age 55, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. Graveside Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Roselawn Cemetery, Benson. Rev. Allen Gupton will officiate.
Mr. Stewart was born on September 22, 1964 in Brevard County, Florida to William Stacy and Helen Thompson Stewart of Benson. He worked as a correctional officer, as probation and parole officer and as a substitute teacher for Johnston County Public Schools.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife of 6 years, Flossie H. Stewart; children, Alicia Norris and husband, Philip of Wilson Mills, Bryan Stewart and wife, Melissa of Benson, Damian Stewart of Wilson Mills; step-children, Joshua Byrd of Fayetteville, Elizabeth Byrd of Fayetteville, Rhonda Byrd and husband, Philip of Greenville; sister, Amy Byrd of Hawaii; 4 step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30PM-1:30PM, Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home of his parents, William Stacy and Helen Stewart.
In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.
