Stephen Ellis Parrish, age 79, of Selma went Home to be with his Heavenly Father on December 19, 2018.
Born January 6, 1939 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Wilbert and Mozelle Parrish. He spent many years playing softball on the weekends and was inducted into the USSSA Hall of Fame in the mid 1980s. After retirement, he and his wife of 60 years, Dottie enjoyed spending their days fishing on the beach at the Outer Banks, spending time at their river house in Oriental, NC, thrift store shopping and most of all, enjoying time with his family. For the past couple of years, he was a devoted and loving caregiver to the love of his life, Dottie. He was a faithful member of United Faith Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife and was the loving father of Gayle (Carson) Price of Selma, Doug (Denise) Parrish of Middlesex, and Susan (Darren) Hales of Helena, MT. He had 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 special grandchild.
He was proceeded in death by his brothers Harold and Earl Parrish.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am Saturday, December 22, 2018 at United Faith Christian Church with services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in United Faith Christian Church Cemetery.
