Sylvia Helmi Oksa Thompson, 81, passed away at Kitty Askins Hospice Center on Monday, April 22, 2019. She was born on February 26, 1938 in Helsinki, Finland to the late Arvo Oksa and Lila Marttila Oksa. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lawrence Thompson, Jr. and son, David John Thompson. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Goldsboro. There will be a time to visit with the family immediately after the Memorial Service. A private burial will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by daughters, Alison Park of Yuba City, California, Karin Fail of Four Oaks, and Jamie Thompson of Four Oaks; sister, Edwina Eastman of Hudson, MA; grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Danielle Fail, and Collin Wallace.
