Sylvia Horne Woodruff, age 78, of Selma passed away on May 19, 2019 following a period of declining health. Born in Wilson County on November 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Nicey Hinton Horne. She and her husband were associated with Good Samaritan Helpers and enjoyed Mission trips to West Virginia. Sylvia loved life including her family, fishing, and traveling.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with burial following in Carter’s Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
Surviving are her loving husband of 62 years, Clifton W. Woodruff; son Stephen Woodruff of Selma; daughter Darlene Woodruff of Morehead City; grandson Stephen Woodruff II of Selma and her sister Beatrice Horne of Greer, SC.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to any Southern Baptist Children’s Home.
