Selma – Sylvia Sarver Maxey, age 69, passed away at her home in Selma Friday January 11, 2019. Sylvia was born December 2, 1949 in Blacksburg, VA to the late Marvin and Mary Magdalene Sarver. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday January 17, 2019 at 2 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Price cemetery near Pine Level. Sylvia is survived by daughters Darlene Hamid and husband Ali of Garner, and Jamie Sanders and husband Michael of AZ.; Son Richard Maxey of Swannanoa, NC.; Sisters Barbara Hyatt of Yorktown, VA and Mary Lee Williams of Pembroke, VA.; Grandchildren Alyssa and Noah Hamid, Karamaya, Alijah, and Jamari Sanders, and Xavier Maxey. Flowers are acceptable as well as donations to SPCA or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
