Dr. Ted Ray Rollins, age 82, of Garner, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Monday, October 9, 2017. Born in Johnston County on July 25, 1935, he was the son of the late Joel Green and Irene Griswold Rollins. He received his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University, his master’s from East Carolina and his Doctorate from NC. State. Ted was retired from the NC Department of Public Instruction as Chief Consultant in the Division of Vocational Education. Dr. Rollins coached football at Garner High School from 1962-1966 and loved quail and deer hunting. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Garner and a devoted husband and father.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church, 601 St. Mary’s Street in Garner on Friday, October 13, from 12 noon until 1 PM followed by a funeral service at 1PM. Burial will be at 3:00 PM on Friday in Selma Memorial Gardens in Selma, NC.
Surviving are his wife, Janice Little Rollins and his daughter Nan Rollins of Garner.
