Benson, NC: Mr. Terry “Jake” Matthew Jacobs, age 54, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at his residence. Celebration of Life Service will be 6:00PM, Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Mr. Phillip Roberts will officiate.
Terry was born on January 10, 1967 in Illinois to Carolyn Sue Black Jacobs of Illinois and the late Barry Matthew Jacobs. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father-in-law, Eddie Farrior. Terry was a lead IT architect with Duke Energy in Raleigh, NC with over 20 years of service. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran. Terry loved fishing, ATV riding, splitting wood and loved the Lord. He always put others first.
Surviving in addition to his mother include his wife of 31 years, Melony Blackwell Jacobs, son, Matthew Thomas Jacobs, brother, Barry Michael Jacobs and wife, Barbara, nephews, Michael Jacobs and Corey Anderson, father-in-law, Skip Blackwell and wife, Carolyn, mother-in-law, Jo Farrior, sister-in-law, Jackie Anderson and husband, Jeffery, God daughters, Rachel and Breanna.
The family will receive friends following the Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
Flowers are welcomed, however, memorials may be sent to Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306 or to Wounded Warrior Project.
