Thomas Glenn Higgins, age 66, of Smithfield, passed away on November 10, 2017 at Johnston Health. Born in Johnston County on December 22, 1950, he was the son of the late David Glenn and Ruth Langdon Higgins. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Tammy Johnson and a sister Rachel Massengill.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, at 11:00 AM in the Garner Cemetery near Selma. The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma Monday night from 7 to 9 PM.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby Garner Higgins; daughters, Amy Woolard and husband Clint of Wendell, Windy Canterbury and husband Gerald of Mt. Dora, FL; sisters, Joyce Higgins of Goldsboro, Delores Jagger of Seven Springs, Gail Phillips of Goldsboro; half-brothers, Buster Brown of Wilson’s Mills, Jerry Brown of Selma; grandchildren, David Glen Johnson, Johnathan Blake Johnson, Michael Lee, Keenan Sanders, Brittany Canterbury, Hailey Canterbury, Gerald Canterbury, Jr. and Taylor Woolard; and two great grandchildren, Colby Luke Johnson and Allie Nicole Lee.
