Smithfield- Walter Franklin Bean, age 78, of Smithfield passed away on March 17, 2017. Born in Bladen County on October 15, 1938, he was the son of the late William and Maniel Myrtle Henderson Bean. He was also preceded in death by a brother William “Mickey” Bean, and sisters Sadie Brown, Esther Messer, Gladys Medlin, Mary Dell Smith and Louise Johnson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with burial following in the Price Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3 PM.
Surviving are a sister Lucille Phillips of West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
