Benson: Mr. Walter Glenn West, age 74 of 1605 Hannah Creek Road died Wednesday at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00-PM Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Hannah’s Creek Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Courtney.
Mr. West was born April 1, 1942 in Johnston County to the late Jesse Benton and Irene Register West. Mr. West was the retired owner and operator of Chrome-Rite Plating Shop in Fayetteville. He was a member of Hannah’s Creek Baptist Church and also served in the National Guard.
Surviving is his wife of twenty-eight years, Betty Russell West; children, Terry West, Gary West, Catherine Jaime, Cynthia Stoughton, Cheryl Holle and John McGrew; thirty-one grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the church.
