Smithfield – Walter Ray Perry, age 75 passed away at his home April 27, 2019. Born August 23, 1943 in Wake County to the late Jasper Ray and Glather Walker Perry. In addition to his parents Mr. Perry is also preceded in death by his brother William Dan Perry. A Memorial service will be conducted Wednesday May 1, 2019 at 2 PM at Asbury United Methodist. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Mr. Perry is survived by his wife Kathy of the home; Sons Donald Perry and wife Leslie of Selma, William Dodds and wife Jessie of Chapel Hill, and Ronnie Perry of Smithfield; Daughter Deborah Monday and husband Richard of Willow Springs; Brother Ernest Lee Perry of Wilmington; Grandchildren Julie Rodriguez, Bradley Parrish, Donald Perry Jr., Allison McLamb, Eric Magnusum, Walker Dodds, and Marissa Styron; Great Grandchildren Angel and Hailey Rodriguez, Baylee and Jackson Perry, Brooks McLamb, Cole Monday and Carolina Monday and Rebecca Vestal Greatgrandchildren: Shelby, Zoey and Piper. Mr. Perry was a member of Asbury United Methodist in Smithfield and enjoyed watching NASCAR and western movies as well as taking trips to Carolina Beach and auctions.
