William Earl Ormond, Sr., 92, of Princeton passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. William Earl was born August 14, 1926 in Greene County to the late Jesse Lee Ormond and Ola Mae Brady Ormond. He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Keen Ormond. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 6:00 pm with the Reverend Dennis Pollock and Reverend Neal Brantley, Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3:30 pm until 6:00 pm at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations on Monday, December 31, 2018.
William Earl and his wife, Virginia were the founders and owners of Ormond’s Oil and Gas and Ormond’s Sales and Service for over 65 years.
He was a member of the Princeton United Methodist Church where among other positions he has held, he has served as a Sunday School Teacher and a Trustee. He is a past Mayor of Princeton and a past member of the Princeton Lion’s Club. He has also served with the Princeton Fire Department and the Princeton Rescue.
William Earl is survived by sons, Eddie Ormond and wife, Renea of Princeton, and Kirk Ormond of the home; daughters, Sherry O. Worley and husband, James of Princeton and Ginger O. Massengill and husband, Mark of Princeton; 8 grandchildren, Rodney Ormond and wife, Kate, Suzanne Bagley and husband, Dennis , Samantha Grimes and husband, Jay, Jay Worley and wife, Ashley, Janna Davenport, Savanna Massengill, Macy Massengill, and Dalton Massengill; 10 great grandchildren, Avery, Will, Lennox, Autumn, Jameson, Maddie, Wake, Lena Jae, Jayce and Preslee.
