PRINCETON – William Lester Strickland, Jr., age 67, died Thursday morning, July 23, 2020 in the SECU Hospice House.
Born February 15, 1953 in Johnston County to the late William Lester and Hazel Collins Strickland, he was preceded in death by a daughter Chrystal Strickland. William was a farmer who was proud of his profession and believed in John Deere equipment.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Saturday just prior to the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the Rev. Kevin Gurley officiating. The burial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the cemetery at Pauline Baptist Church near Four Oaks.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma Strickland; son, Chad Strickland of Middlesex; daughter, Kim Strickland of Princeton; brothers, Charles Strickland of Florida and Bobby Strickland and Doug Strickland both of Kenly; sister, Sue Grice of Benson and five grandchildren, Ashleigh, Brandon, Gabe, Garrison and Gracie.
