Coats, NC: Mr. William Edward “Mr. Bill” Coats, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Harnett Woods Nursing and Rehab in Erwin. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Harnett Devotional Gardens. Pastor Eddie White will officiate.
Mr. Coats was born on October 15, 1936 in Harnett County to the late Alonzo R. and Mary Louise Godwin Coats. He was preceded in the death by several brothers and sisters. Mr. Coats retired from the U.S. Air force and proudly served for 30 years on the Coats Grove Fire and Rescue. He was a member of Coats Community Church in Coats.
Surviving are his children, William J-M Coats; Charles A. Coats and wife, Dina all of Coats; Jerry L. Coats and special friend, Karen Faircloth of Lillington and Corinne L. Coats of Coats; six grandchildren, Leon, Austin, Ashley, Brooke, Dustin and Taylor; four great-grandchildren, Natilyn, Carden, Adalynn, Fitz; brother, John Danny Coats and wife, Barbara of Virginia; mother of his children, Michele S. Coats of Coats; special loving grand dogs; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Coats will be available for viewing, and you will be able to sign the register book on Thursday, April 16, 2020 from 12:00 PM-5:00 PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats. The family will not be present during this time. Due to the recent health concerns the family understands that you are not able to join them. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
