On Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the Hospice House of High Point, NC, Bill Hardison, formerly of Pine Level, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior after a diagnosis of Stage IV pancreatic cancer in mid-May. Bill was born on October 25, 1936 in Edenton, NC to the late Willie L. Hardison and Agnes S. Hardison. Bill played football for John A. Holmes High School in Edenton and was awarded a football scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was the first of his family to attend college.

In December 1958, Bill married Yvonne White of Raleigh, NC. During their 53-year marriage, they had three children: Elizabeth Ann “Beth”, Kimberly Joy (1964-1976), and Philip Louis. Bill enjoyed a long career in education, beginning with teaching history and coaching football in Edenton, NC and later serving as principal, food service director, and assistant superintendent of schools in Halifax County. Bill’s last job before retiring and moving to Pine Level was serving as the business and finance manager at Vance Granville Community College in Henderson, NC.

Throughout Bill’s life as husband, father, employee, friend and neighbor he faithfully served the Lord Jesus Christ. Bill’s main objective in life was to glorify God in all he said and did. Bill lived his life in humility and thanksgiving. His sweet, generous spirit and great sense of humor will be sorely missed. A brief visitation (10:15-10:45) will be held immediately before the service. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
