    Kenly – Willie Ray Crocker, age 79, died Sunday, October 22, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Born August 8, 1938 in Johnston County he was the son of the late Willie Ervin and Lucille Broughton Crocker. He was preceded in death by his infant brother. Ray was a carpenter by trade as well as a farmer. He loved tending his garden and sharing his produce with others. He didn’t know a stranger and enjoyed sharing his faith and telling others about Jesus. Ray loved his family so much and was especially proud of his grandchildren.
    A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Kenly Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Banks, Rev. Chris Watkins, and Rev. George Arant officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion FWB Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at his home.
    Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Joyce Crocker of the home; daughters, Christy Watkins and husband Rev. Chris Watkins of Williamston and Jennifer Crocker of Kenly; brother, Lynwood Crocker and wife Bonnie of Kenly; sister, Joyce House of Kenly; grandchildren, Emily Watkins, Jacob Watkins, Andrew Watkins, Garrett Peacock, Jenna Peacock, and Zachary Peacock; and many beloved nieces and nephew.
