Benson, NC: Mr. Willie Valton Young, age 67, of Elevation Road passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Rev. Randy Beasley will officiate. Burial will follow in Erwin Memorial Park in Erwin.
Mr. Young was born on January 2, 1954 in Wayne County to the late Valton Young and Ruth Surles Phillips. He was preceded in death by sisters, Martha Young, Jean Alteria, and Mary Alice Adams. Mr. Young was hard working and self-employed in the heating and air conditioning business. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, riding his golf cart and four-wheeler with all the kids. Mr. Young also loved attending yard sales and auctions.
Surviving include his wife of 30 years, Libby R. Young; children, Brandon Young and wife, Ashley of Selma, Stephen Parrish and wife, Misty of Concord; grandchildren, Cooper Parrish, Kendall Young, and Karsen Young; sisters, Doris Smith of Dunn, Joyce Anderson of Benson; brother, Billy Young of Mt. Olive; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 1:45PM prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38015.
In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.
