Yvonne Holland Mitchell, age 77, passed to her eternal rest on January 20, 2018. Born in Johnston County on February 1, 1941, she was the daughter of the late James Lenly and Estelle Cockrell Holland. Yvonne married Jimmy Lee Mitchell on June 19, 1957 and has spent her life dedicated to raising her family and serving God. She will be lovingly missed by her four children and their spouses, Dwight and Diane Mitchell, Mike and Mary Mitchell, Rick and Leigh Mitchell, Kay and Randy Anderson; and eight grandchildren, Jamie, Amanda, Michael, Samantha, Dusty, Timmy, Danny Mitchell and Kayla Anderson; and two step-grandchildren, Trish Scott and Leanne Cahall; and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Jimmy L. Holland and Linwood Earl Holland. She was preceded in death by a brother Bobby Gene Holland.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, January 24, in the Kenly Cemetery with Rev. David Currie officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the home of Kay Anderson, 501 S. Wilson St., Kenly, NC.
Yvonne will be forever remembered by many extended family and friends as a faithful wife, loving mother, and a smiling face that loved adventure, travel and her precious Lord and Saviour.
