One person escaped from their burning mobile home Monday without injury. The fire was reported around 9:30am on Creech Road off Highway 42 East outside of Kenly.
The Antioch, Bethany and Thanksgiving Fire Departments responded and brought the blaze under control. Johnston County EMS stood by at the scene.
Fire officials suspect a container of grease left on the stove started the blaze. The home was a complete loss.
The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office is still investigating.
