A small passenger car overturned multiple times Sunday morning ejecting both occupants into a cow pasture.
The crash was discovered around 1:30am on Gordon Road between Clayton and Wilson’s Mills. Troopers said the westbound vehicle traveled off Gordon Road to the right and into a ditch, then slammed into a drainage culvert, causing the vehicle to overturn at least six times coming to rest in a field.
Both men were conscious but sustained numerous injuries including broken bones. Both were transported by Johnston County EMS to Wake Medical Center for treatment.
Both men denied being the driver of the vehicle. Troopers said alcohol was a contributing factor. The accident still remains under investigation.
