Olive Appointed To NC Board Of Funeral Service

Johnston County Register of Deeds Craig Olive was recently appointed by President Pro-Tem Phil Berger to serve as a member of the North Carolina Funeral Service Board.  The NC Funeral Service Board is responsible for the administration and regulation of the profession of funeral service in North Carolina. The Board reviews applications, administers examinations, licenses qualified applicants, and regulates the professional practice of the licensees throughout the State.  The Board is also responsible for hearings on misconduct.

Craig-Olive-2-FI“I consider it an honor to be appointed to serve on the Board of Funeral Service,” Olive said. “Register of Deeds across the state work closely with Funeral Homes to ensure death certificates are recorded promptly and properly.  I look forward to bringing my knowledge in technology, workflow and customers’ needs to the Board and to make it easier for the citizens of North Carolina to obtain their loved ones’ death certificates.”

Olive said one of his goals during his time on the NC Board of Funeral Service will be to bring automation to the procedure of creating and filing death certificates.
