One Hospitalized After Two-Vehicle Crash At Johnston County Intersection

ANTIOCH COMMUNITY — A serious two-vehicle crash at a Johnston County intersection Saturday morning sent one person to the hospital.
The collision occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of NC Highway 39 and Antioch Church Road when a red Subaru collided with a white GMC pickup. The pickup T-boned the car on the passenger side.

Firefighters from the Antioch Fire Department responded to the scene and used specialized equipment to remove a car door to extricate a passenger trapped inside the Subaru. Johnston County EMS transported at least one person to the hospital. The extent of injuries has not yet been released.

The intersection was closed for a period of time.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
