The Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash near the Johnston-Harnett County line.
It happened Wednesday evening on Young Road at Benson Road outside of Angier.
Jose Guadalupe Sanchez Cano, 28, of Coats was killed when his Pontiac passenger car was struck by a Dodge pickup driven by Brandon Devon McLain, 28, of Raleigh.
Initial reports indicate McLain failed to stop for a stop sign at the rural intersection and struck Cano’s vehicle in the side. 
Cano died at the scene from his injuries. McLain sustained minor injuries.
The Highway Patrol says charges against McLain are pending.
Neighbors said the intersection is dangerous and has been the scene of several bad crashes.
