Pair Charged With Breaking Into Car, Shoplifting From Businesses

SMITHFIELD – Two people were arrested following a brief crime spree Sunday afternoon, December 15 on Outlet Center Drive.

Yusuf Jabair Evans, age 41, of Goldsboro and Brandie Nicole Williams, age 42, of Fremont are charged with felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny, and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

Around 4:40pm, Smithfield Police were dispatched to the parking lot at Carolina Premium Outlets after 13 remote control cars belonging to Go! Calendars, Toys & Games on Outlet Center Drive were stolen from an employee’s vehicle.

Police located the suspects in a 2009 Jeep SUV before they could flee the parking lot. Inside their vehicle they located the stolen remote control vehicles along with merchandise stolen from the nearby Nike Factory Store and Childrens Place. Altogether, $1,169.29 in stolen items was recovered.

During the arrest of Evans and Williams, ten suspected Ecstasy pills were located and seized.
